Google OAuth
Sign in to PixoMonitor instantly using your Google account. No need to remember another password—just click and go.
What is Google OAuth?
Google OAuth allows you to sign in to PixoMonitor using your existing Google account credentials. Instead of creating a new username and password, you can authenticate securely through Google's trusted identity system.
Benefits
- One-click sign in — No passwords to remember
- Enhanced security — Leverages Google's robust security infrastructure
- Automatic account creation — New accounts are created instantly on first sign in
- Linked to your Google email — Uses your Google email as your PixoMonitor identity
Google OAuth is configured by the platform administrator. As a user, you simply need to click the "Sign in with Google" button—no setup required on your end.
How to Sign In with Google
Go to the Login Page
Navigate to the PixoMonitor login page at pixomonitor.com/login.
Click 'Sign in with Google'
Click the Sign in with Google button below the standard login form. You'll be redirected to Google's authentication page.
Choose Your Google Account
Select the Google account you want to use with PixoMonitor. If you're already signed in to Google, you may be able to skip this step.
Grant Permissions
Google will ask you to confirm that PixoMonitor can access your basic profile information:
- Your name
- Your email address
Click Allow to proceed.
Access Your Dashboard
You'll be automatically redirected back to PixoMonitor and signed in. If this is your first time, a new account will be created for you using your Google email and name.
Account Behavior
New Users
When you sign in with Google for the first time:
- A new PixoMonitor account is automatically created
- Your display name is set to your Google profile name
- Your email is set to your Google email address
- Your account is immediately active—no email verification needed
- You're assigned the default user role
Returning Users
If you've previously signed in with Google:
- You'll be logged in to your existing account
- All your monitors, settings, and data remain intact
- Any changes to your Google profile (like name updates) won't affect your PixoMonitor profile
Existing Email Match
If you already have a PixoMonitor account with the same email as your Google account:
- Signing in with Google will link to your existing account
- You can then use either method to sign in: email/password or Google OAuth
If you initially signed up with email/password and later sign in with Google using the same email, both authentication methods will work for your account.
Security Considerations
What PixoMonitor Receives
When you sign in with Google, PixoMonitor only receives:
- Your email address
- Your display name
- A unique identifier (never your Google password)
PixoMonitor never has access to:
- Your Google password
- Your Google contacts
- Your Google Drive files
- Any other Google services
Session Management
- Sessions are managed using secure JWT tokens
- Access tokens expire after 15 minutes and are automatically refreshed
- Refresh tokens are valid for 7 days
- You can log out at any time to invalidate your session
If your account is suspended by an administrator, you won't be able to sign in—even with Google OAuth. Contact support if you believe this is an error.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I disconnect my Google account?
Your PixoMonitor account is separate from your Google account. If you want to stop using Google sign-in, you can:
- Set a password in your profile settings
- Use email/password authentication instead
What if I don't see the Google sign-in button?
The Google sign-in option is only available if your PixoMonitor administrator has enabled it. If you don't see the button, contact your administrator or use email/password authentication.
Can I use a different Google account?
Yes! Simply sign out of PixoMonitor, click "Sign in with Google" again, and choose a different Google account. Note that this will create or link to a different PixoMonitor account based on the email address.
Is my data safe?
Yes. PixoMonitor uses industry-standard OAuth 2.0 protocol. Your Google password is never shared with PixoMonitor, and all communication happens through secure HTTPS connections.
